The Old Town of Edinburgh, is the oldest part of the city. It has preserved its medieval plan and many Reformation-era buildings. One end is closed by Edinburgh Castle and the main artery, the Royal Mile, leads away from it, down to Holyrood Palace and the ruined Holyrood Abbey.

The New Town is a central area of Edinburgh. It is often considered to be a masterpiece of city planning, It was built in stages between 1765 and around 1850, and retains much of the original neo-classical and Georgian period architecture. Its most famous street is Princes Street, facing Edinburgh Castle and the Old Town.

Over the last fifty years the southside of edinburgh has transformed from a strictly residential area to an area booming with modern technology. while you can still find homes, they are not simple little country homes but instead pristine modern developments and simple apartment buildings. the area is well known for it's schools, the new campus of edinburgh university, and young artistic feel.

Leith is now technically part of Edinburgh, and it's widely considered the nicest part. Fifty years ago you wouldn't have recognized the now modern waterfront. What was once historic buildings is now a collection of modern facilities for the areas most wealthy citizens.

the outreach center is the leading group and facility dedicated to special rights. located in southside, it is one of the largest buildings in the area and houses more specials than any other place in the country. did we mention it's free? yep, that's right. it's privately funded and therefore is able to house specials who were made homeless by the prejudice.

the atrium is located under the parliament building in the new town area of Edinburgh. this is the government headquarters for it's secret facility dedicated to understanding and controlling special powers. the agents in this facility are both normal and special alike, some altered, and some just skilled, but all willing to do the governments bidding.

the offset head quarters, appropriately called 'the bunker' is located just outside of all the hustle and bustle of edinburgh, somewhere in leith.the bunker is completely underground, lit with artificial light only, built partially in an existing granite cave. most of the offset choose to stay here.

the unique thing about the unknown's safe house is that it's truly is a full safe house. if initiated, the entire house shuts down. the twelve foot high concrete wall around it, shuts out the rest of the world, the retractable aluminum shield comes down over the glass walls and everything closes up. even the draw bridge leading to the pool raises. it's truly safe and tucked away outside of edinburgh.
